Help with filters

I have a Canon EOS Rebel t100, that comes with a 18-55 mm lens, and a bought a nifty 50 too. I saw that the lens that came in the camera kit have a 58mm diameter for filters, and the nifty fifty have a 49mm diameter, and I wanted to buy only one size of filters, that being 58mm, and a step up ring from 49mm to 58mm, but i'm not sure if the nifty fifty have a different type of filter, and have no ideia how would be a filter in it, because when I compared the two lenses, i saw that the nifty fifty have a larger diameter then the other one. That's were i was confused, the ring would fit? Isn't it larger then 49mm? If someone have a nifty fifty and have some filters or step up ring, could please tell me and show me a picture to understand better, please? 😅
