2014 VW CC R-Line 2.0 Automatic

Hey, I just recently bought a used CC and I’m looking to upgrade it and do a few minor mods to it. I will say I’m new to the car scene and this will be my first project car(probably not the ideal first car to be a project) and I’m starting my automotive service certification this week. Any recommendations you all have for a rookie learning the ropes of foreign mechanics? I would appreciate limiting the “sell it” “waste of time” comments, I get it it may have some bad cons but I actually like having a challenge and it will make this car so much more special to me if I can overcome everything people think are downsides
