You don’t need to pay coinite to get to the maze.

This is a VERY extensive guide on the ins and outs of crossing the river without paying the ferryman. If you do everything right, it may still take multiple tries, but isn’t extremely difficult by any means.

Might eventually get patched, hope it doesn’t. Basically, it’s entirely possible to cross the river faster before it kills you, but may be limited to certain races (demon, angel , archangel).

My speed setup was 3 pieces of light armor made of velchire, lightite and aetherite (light armor bc it’s cheaper to make) which gave +120% speed. Then, I enhanced them each to lvl 6 and put 10% speed runes in both slots on every piece, which gave +60% speed. Then, I used the demon race and equipped the move speed achievement, which gave +30% speed. Finally I bought speed and healing potions.

I would jump to the tiny island in front of the boat, drink a speed potion, drink a health potion, then dart across the river.

The strategy is to point your camera straight up (to where it would be underwater), hold down jump, and dash every second time you bob out of the water. The dash cooldown is too long to dash every time you jump out of the water.
