I finally convinced my partner that liquid laundry detergent has a shelf life.

So my partner has had the same few bottles of laundry detergent since we I first visited his house. That was over three years ago. When I moved in a year ago, I tried what he had, as he was convinced he had gotten it recently. I did, it didn't get my clothes clean, particularly not the discharge in my underwear. Even if it really was new, it didn't work great.

I got a french bottle of Ariel detergent, started using that, and it was fantastic. Decided to keep using it, and asked if we could get rid of the other detergent to free up storage space, since it doesn't work well anyway. He refused, although he did put it in a storage area where I couldn't reach it, because in his eyes, it was still perfectly good. I tried showing him article and the like explaining that the stuff goes bad.

Fast-forward to now, I have been doing all the laundry in the house, and we need that higher storage space for some other things. He says no, insists on keeping it. Trying to form some other arguments to get rid of it, I took a whiff of one... It was RANK. Like gag-inducing rank.

Welp, there's my argument right there. I brought it to him "hey babe, smell this" and he wa revolted. "Can we get rid of this stuff now?" "Fine you're right"

Finally, such a relief to have that stuff gone.
