Hello all,

I am fairly new to Reddit but wanted to share my experiences with the xkah so far.

The smoking experience was okay. The clouds are crazy, but I have experienced some pretty bad things as well:

1.) THE NICOTINE

I smoke dark leaf nearly everyday, however I can not take more than 1-2g of dark leaf without throwing up from the nicotine. It is just way too strong and hence being so smooth, I fear that beginners will struggle with that

2.) the flavor

To me personally, the xkah just numbs the flavor and it’s peak performance is maybe 30-40% in flavor intensity from what I need and expect from a good bowl.

3.) the batteries

My first xkah died within a week. Their direct support sucked so I went and bought another one and opened the batteries. There is a basic BMS with a temperature sensor, which seems to be either deactivated or inaccurate when smoking. The cells get up to 80°C on a fresh battery and the temperature just gets more and more with age of the batteries. The cells are rated for 60°C so they definitely won’t last long in terms of capacity or (like in my case) simply blow up.

4.) cleaning and overall structure

After opening my broken device I have seen a hefty buildup of molasses on the heater and in the airflow channels. This further numbs or alters the taste and definitely won’t be healthy.

I have reported the xkah to the authorities now. I have seen numerous cases of similar experiences in discords, with friends and on here. However these posts mostly get taken down so we‘ll see how long mine will last.

They are drawing 10 amps through these miniature pogo pins and place a lithium battery in close proximity to the heating element.

I beg everyone with similar experiences to report this, as a lithium fire is next to impossible to take out and is incredibly dangerous - just imagine all these people who are smoking indoors or even in the car experiencing gassing from the batteries and burning up their whole room.

My battery started smoking (and burning!) just after 3 months of use (maybe three bowls per week) and got stuck in the device. The controller froze so I could not turn the device off and had to literally throw it out the window.

The pictures are the aftermath but don’t do justice on the event.

Look out for cheap Chinese shit with clever marketing, please.
