BOWP for CEC – How long to get work permit extension letter?

Hey everyone,

I just applied for my PR under CEC and submitted my Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) application as well.

I was wondering how long it usually takes to receive the work permit extension / implied status letter (the one you can show your employer) after applying for BOWP?

I applied before my current work permit expires, so I should be on maintained status, but my employer is asking for the extension letter.

For those who recently applied:

How long did it take for the letter to show up in your IRCC account?

Did it come as a separate message or only when the BOWP was approved?
