[Trance] Redarkted by Skeybrows
This guy is very good with the AI in general I think. Most AI art for example has really glassy eyes, blank expressions, bad compositions and camera angles but his video is a cut above most. But this is a music sub, so let's talk about the song!
One thing that stands out to me about this is that you can actually find and listen to the un-cleaned version. While I find this "cleaned" track easier to listen to, I feel like most of the artifacts Suno produces in a track are an attempt to make it sound good, which is an interesting dilemma. This is because, even though I (as a trained listener/music producer) find the un-cleaned track hard to listen to on bad speakers, it may be better than the cleaned version on high quality monitors. The removal of "harmonic noise" (for lack of a better description) makes the track more boring, even though it removes the annoying sound artifacts that many Suno tracks have. As many people have noted, these artifacts actually sound kind of good sometimes on good speakers, but they don't translate well to worse speakers.
Even forgiving that issue, his mix in this version is horrible. Massive volume changes across sections, particularly near the start. With that said, I like the song and have listened to it many times now. He said that he's going to work on it more and then put it onto Spotify, at which point I assume these volume changes will be fixed.
So what plugins did he use? My guess is Soothe 2 and Ozone 12, or other stuff that does the same thing. These are basically de-noisers that work off of an algorithm and that you have varying degrees of control over, although Ozone 12 is more of a mastering suite with stem separation, but they can have fairly similar outcomes here.
In conclusion, I feel like we got a better track overall because of his changes, but it's not something that can necessarily be fully automated because we have also lost some things compared to the original version of the track. What do you guys think?
