Overthinking (27F) requesting old situationship (33M) on instagram, not sure what to do with the regret

Background- Had a 3 month whirlwind situationship. I thought we were soulmates, he knew he was graduating school and moving away. I thought it was serious, he didnt.

Ended badly with me not taking it well and saying never speak to me again. Broke up in July-> spoke once in sept then never again. He messaged me on hinge in December-> I didnt respond.

Fast forward to this December I was going through a breakup and feeling erratic and followed him out of the blue. The request has now been sitting for almost a month. Via his moms instagram, I know he's seeing someone. I feel sooo embarrassed and dont really feel the desire to talk anymore. But I also dont want him to know Im still thinking about it and unrequest it. Do I wait and see if he approves it and unfollow him right after? Wait awhile and unfollow? Ugh I wish he would of just deined it. If i was his girlfriend I'd be mad he didnt. Hes gained a few followers since so he uses the app. Not sure what the least embarrassing route is now.

TL;DR- Do I unrequest my old situationship or just leave it now?
