Choosing what to do post grad

Advice & Support

Im currently in third year of a four year degree in economics and business in Trinity. My grades so far have not been great (high 2:2), so I’m worried that I might be locked out of graduate schemes (as I’ve seen so far with summer internship applications). My plan is to pull my overall grade up to a 2:1, as third year counts for 30% and final year 70%.

Overall I’m stuck between three options post grad:

- Doing a MSc in Finance or Economics: potentially in UCD or abroad, I’m not sure how feasible the latter is given my grades achieved so far.

- Graduate medicine- a big pivot and the fees are a major deterrent.

- trying to get a grad job straight away (in Ireland or abroad)

I’d appreciate perspective on anyone who has done any of these paths or just has general input.
