Giving Insurance a Recorded Statement
My former landlord claimed my property as their own in an insurance claim regarding flood damage. Now their insurance is investigating this as fraud and wants to record me giving a statement, access my photos of the place, see bank statements of rent transactions, and my email conversations with the landlord.
I am reluctant to be part of this because this landlord is a lawyer (not inherently a concern, but clearly does irrational things) and I'm worried about legal retaliation.
Is this a normal step in the process?
Should I be concerned about retaliation for cooperating with their insurance?
