Paris Baguette.
I’m posting this because I want to know if anyone working here is having a similar experience. Let’s just say I work at a location for 13$ an hr decorating cakes. I am frequently talked to by management and people above me as if I am 5 years old even when I show up and do my job correctly and all I do is politely agree. I’ve never experienced being talked down to in this manner even at McDonald’s. Just straight up rude and condescending. Sometimes the person above me will throw a fit and slam things around. Management is a mess, you will have one boss telling you to do something and then an hour later another will be throwing a fit at you asking “why did you do this?!?” when you did what you were told. The person who is ‘above’ me shows up whenever she wants and completely disregards her schedule, leaving me alone in the morning to finish everything. And then when she shows up and everything is not done; will guilt me into working a 12 hour shift until all the cakes and prep and cleaning are finished. Sometimes not allowing a break. Or getting upset when I take my break. I will also frequently be blamed for others mistakes on the cakes even when I was not there when it was made. I have only been here for two months and I am expected to be a machine pumping out 20+ pristine cakes, clean, and prep, in the span of 7 hours, even when I am by myself. If I don’t accomplish this with my two months of experience I know I am going to be berated. It’s seriously not worth it for the long hours and abysmal pay.
