Question for creators: what really triggers the “Projects We Love” badge?
Hi everyone,
I’m a creator currently running a Kickstarter campaign in the Tech / Gadgets category, and I had a question about the “Projects We Love” badge.
Our project launched very strongly — we were fully funded in under an hour, and we’re now at around +490% funded. The project is based on a genuinely new technology, and we’re trying to address a real-world problem: alcohol-related accidents, especially around prevention and decision-making before driving.
That said, I’m fully aware that funding speed or percentages alone probably aren’t what earns the badge. So I wanted to ask those of you who’ve been through this (or know the process better):
• Is it mainly editorial judgment from Kickstarter staff?
• Does press coverage, community engagement, or updates matter more?
• Is there anything creators can actively improve during the campaign to increase the chances?
I’m genuinely curious about what Kickstarter values most when highlighting projects they believe in, especially for tech products aiming to solve real societal problems.
Any insight or firsthand experience would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance 🙏
