feeling weird and gross after a conversation with my therapist
also counts as a rant/vent but advice is welcome
was having a conversation with my therapist about dysphoria and also having recently visited my boyfriend. she asked about intimacy and if it triggered my dysphoria, and i said not really, i only do anal sex and my boyfriend has never seen the front part of me. i explained that i have some intersex traits as well (doctor said i might be intersex but not enough tests have been done to figure out what it is), so for example i have a visible bulge when im hard etc. (im pre-t for now)
at some point she brought up safe sex stuff and explained, “many heterosexual, cisgender couples — especially females — think that anal sex means they can’t get pregnant. im trying to make sure youre aware that there is a possibility, and your boyfriend needs to be careful where he ejaculates.” it caught me very off guard because i rarely think about pregnancy. i got an implant in my arm to stop my periods because they made me dysphoric, so this would make me unable to get pregnant anyways. i also explained that it seemed i had never ovulated before and am potentially infertile. she asked me if that made me feel better and i said it did.
i know that she was just looking out for my safety, but im left feeling really disgusted for some reason. realizing that people assume i can get pregnant, comparing my experience to that of a heterosexual female. she is trans supportive and i dont imagine that her intention was to do that, but i feel weird af and dont know what to think or do.
