Vent question for double sink vanity in bathroom

In a bathroom we had two sinks on an exterior wall, with the vertical vent after the second sink.

It's been remodeled, with the sinks moving further away from that existing vent, to an interior wall (90 degrees from the previous exterior wall), extending that same drain line.

Getting some odors, and I'm guessing it's because the sink drains are too far away from that original vent.

I have access to the attic above, and I could open up the back side of that interior bathroom wall, to put a vertical vent up from the drain line that's inside that interior wall, up into the attic. Then I could go into the attic and tie that into the existing vent stack up there.

My question is: will that work? I feel that what I'm proposing sounds too simple, I've seen other diagrams here that show double sink vanities with a vent after each sink and multiple parallel pipes making a square and all sorts of complexity.

I suppose if something more complex is needed I could open up more of the backside of that interior wall and do two vents if needed.

If this is a good scenario for aav's, I'm open to that too..
