I finished my first campaign!!
Last Friday I finished my first ever DND campaign! I had played and DM’d in several other campaigns, but this was my first time completing a game. We ran this campaign for a little under two years, clocking in at about 200 hours of gameplay, with our final session running for about 14 hours (I only wrote out about 6 hours of content)! I’m so proud of my party and their success. They lost 3/5 characters in the final fight against the BBEG and strategized so hard throughout the session. My players had to make some tough decisions about dealing damage instead of healing someone else, giving away their potions, and telling others to let them die so others could have a chance to live. Their sacrifices reset the timeline, saved the world, and allowed all the characters to live long, happy lives! We ended the session sobbing and in a very long group hug.
Ever since we wrapped up, the campaign is all I can think about. I’ve listened to the recording of our 40-minute epilogue like 10 times and keep switching between laughter and tears. I’m so proud of my friends, of their characters, and of myself. Our campaign’s lore, NPCs, deities, countries, and everything else were all 100% homebrew. I love my campaign so much, and with it being a story I’d been daydreaming of long before I even started playing DND, I’m just so damn proud of it. I already miss my world and their characters so so very much.
I don’t really know why I’m putting this here; I just want to tell the entire world how much I love my players, my story, our adventure, and especially this game. I love DND!
