Suggest me dark academia where the protagonist isn't a p*ssy.
I have found every book that starts with an academic setting extremely tiring, because inadvertedly it becomes an easy vehicle for relatability and sympathyzability: the protagonist is shown to be lonely, treated as an outcast and of course bullied left and right for no reason. This same trajectory has been followed so many times by so many authors that I feel I don't want to slog through five or six "introductory chapters" of the protagonist whining about being lonely and being bullied at every possible turn, the same story I've read a thousand times, before the book finally gets to the point and I get to read the actual story.
I genuinely like dark academia, I like knowing multiple side characters, the intrigue and drama that ensues. But I really don't want to read another academic setting unless the author does something novel with it and deviates from the outcast/bullied protagonist archetype in some meaningful way.
