Just did a vocal presentation of some of my favourite songs

I take a vocals course at my art school. For the final, we had to sing two songs. I chose «Полюшко Поле» and «Человек из дома вышел»

I am not a native Russian. I can only read the transliteration and I can speak a few sentences. However, I love Soviet songs. I was actually very underprepared for my performance. Not only was I blanking on the lyrics but I was just a mess.

Today, after the first few people went, the teacher dismissed everyone and told me to stay since I was to perform privately. I stuttered my way through the introduction of the first song, Полюшко Поле. All throughout the song, I switched from Russian to Gibberish. Same thing with the next one.

After the performance, my vocal teacher said “Great pronunciation” (she’s not Russian and doesn’t know Russian btw) and was very proud of me.
