My new Pebble Time (1) in 2026
I bought a 1st gen Pebble Time that was being sold as new on eBay. The key point is that the seller didn’t keep the product sealed — they took it out of the box to charge the battery, keeping it alive.
It’s the red version of the watch. I found the original strap super comfortable, but a bit too flashy. I ended up swapping it for a nylon strap from a Coros Pace 3. The dark gray fabric with a red accent matched it perfectly.
As for the overall experience, I was surprised by how smooth everything went. I downloaded the Pebble app from the Play Store, it recognized the watch instantly, then I connected it to Rebble through the app and installed the latest firmware. So far, everything has been working perfectly.
Honestly, I had forgotten that the motion sensor is… let’s say… a bit picky when it comes to turning on the backlight. I really have to give my wrist a good shake to activate it. But that’s just a minor detail.
Reading notifications on this watch is great, and being able to start the stopwatch and timer at any time by pressing the right-side buttons is very useful.
