Ability to ID cats delayed?

Help me out my LR5 Pro people. I set up my second replacement robot 7 hours ago today. The tech who ordered the replacement robot said to me not only is the scale not working properly. But it'll also give you a chance to enter your cats into the ID system, fresh with pictures and your weights and then give it a week or so to calibrate and be able to ID them every time. It's been hooked up 7 hours and I am watching events but it does not give me the drop down menu to pick and tell it which cat it is. There has been I think six or eight events. So I called support. 45 minutes on the phone. Short version- I won't be able to ID cats until the robot has decided which cats go with which events and then I will be able to go in and make corrections so it learns... I said that's the total opposite of what the guy told me. Plus I was able to see today the old pictures from my cats previous IDs in the system when I was told that the IDing of a cat was specific to just the robot. No. he told me today you have to wait for the Little Robot to start ID cats before you can make corrections, that seems to me to be ludicrous. So he said to me it's not a robot problem. It's an app program problem. So I should wait for the next update, it should fix all these problems I'm having with not being able to ID the cats. Yet the robot is iding the cat when it's in the history, but in order to know if it was ID correctly, I'd have to find that visit over in the events and then go back into history and change it. I also said that I think I was able to start IDing my cats right away. Were you able to ID your cats as soon as you got them into the robot, or did it have to wait until it decided which cat was which?
