Thinking of a change
Context: I’m a mid level associate at a billboard PI firm in a tristate area firm. I make the most money I ever made and get origination fees. There is a lot of support staff but the organization is weird in which cases are assigned to paralegals and not the attorneys so you don’t really have your own paralegal but can share? Idk irrelevant.
Problem: culture—I’m one of 8 or so males in the office of an office of approximately 40. Paralegals are given extraordinary discretion on what to do with a case or how to work. One of them has been there for 20 years and she is “mother paralegal” or head paralegal who divvies up the work. She can delegate work to who she seems to deserve it. Not sure if she had a bachelors degree she just worked in the same place for 20 years. Oh she’s also head of HR lmao. The place is ultra liberal and feminist on the surface—which I don’t care about.
However, another male employee who has been “extremely loyal” to the female principal harassed the younger female employees to the point where they complain to both the female principal and head of HR. Yesterday in particular, a young female assistant presented a list of incidents where this gentleman (not an attorney) made her feel creeped out and violated. Instead of addressing it seriously the two females (head of HR and principal) brushed it off, told her to toughen up (in so many words) and said that the employee “had been extremely loyal” for over 20 years.
What the fuck? Oh and I know this because the young girl was afraid to speak to them alone so she brought another female who has also complained about him in the past.
Are these fucking morons asking for a lawsuit? I think it’s their hypocrisy that really kills me. They are no better than ghislaine helping Jeffrey. That’s how it starts with shit like this.
Sorry for venting but yea I make good money I bring a shit ton of business. Someone hire me.
