Cannot enroll in a CSE course that I’m qualified to take due to easy request pending forever

I want to enroll in a CSE department course and I’m an ECE student, but I have a lot of experience in the field that this course has been teaching and even have taken courses in the ECE department in that same field. I made an easy request one or two weeks ago to the CSE department and I got an email saying they are delayed response. We are now approaching the end of week two but I don’t know what to do because I feel like it’s going to close now and I won’t be enrolled in the class and it’ll be too late for me to take it. What am I supposed to do in the situation? I literally don’t have any choice in the matter and it’s all because he has is taking forever.
