When does the purchasing limit go away?

Just celebrated my 20th birthday last week and I got 50$ in steam gift cards. was really hoping to use them on carats, but I keep getting told my purchasing limit was reached. It's been a week now so I was really hoping it'd finally register that I'm an adult,,,, but nothing changed. Do I have to wait one more year?
