Just another Critical EV Battery Warning
Obligatory, love the car, but wish they could have made it with some better parts and electrical design choices.
Yesterday afternoon while the car was chilling in the garage, I got a notification in the app "Critical EV Battery Warning". Great. Check it out, not much of an in car warning, car still runs and drives fine.
Dug out an old OBD scanner, only code is from the BMS - P1AD3(00). Internet says I'm in for a weeks long wait to get it repaired... Dug deeper and 1 cell with a voltage deviation of 100mV. SOC is around 70%.
Live monitored the voltage of the cell with the deviation and another cell while driving around. While the cell with the deviation was offset by -100mV, the relative change in voltage was the same under load, cell didn't really perform like lame cell (excessive voltage sag).
I made an appointment with the service department for next week, but I'm curious if I should try and charge it to 100% to see if it can balance the cell out. Any thoughts? Or am I just relegated to just another victim of the EV9'tmare.
