Consult w/ Marano Scheduled

Good news! Today I scheduled my phallo consult with Dr. Marano in NYC! My appointment is in June of this year.

I also got some bad news. Apparently my insurance (Cigna) doesn’t have Out-of-Network benefits, so there’s a chance my surgery won’t be covered. The person from Marano’s office that I spoke to said we can file a Single Exception claim (I might have messed up the term) to possibly get it covered, but I won’t find out if it’s actually covered until we near my surgery date, so that’s worrying.

If anyone else has dealt with a similar issue, please feel free to share your experience. I really would like to have Marano as my surgeon, but I’m worried I’m gonna get close to having surgery with him just to have it be cancelled because insurance won’t cover it.
