Coach T stepping down hit me harder than expected; at 38, 19 years is half my life!

Today felt weird, man.

I’m 38, so Coach T has literally been the Steelers head coach for half my life.

Even when things got messy, it rarely felt like the franchise was spiraling into a clown show.

And yeah it hasn’t been perfect. The seasons had their share of almost, and the playoff results didn’t match the expectations or standard. But I’m grateful we got nearly two decades of stability and respectability (plus a Lombardi) in a league built to humble everybody.

Tomlin helped reinforce a culture that doesn’t disappear overnight. If the Steelers do this right, the next chapter can be different and still feel like Pittsburgh.
