Some Wolv tips from a 30k lord in case anyone's interested in playing him
To play Wolv you need to use cover most of the time. High ground by itself can be cover because Wolv is short. The cart when pushing is OK cover. Low ground is the worst kind of cover due to enemy AoE. High ground behind a wall is the absolute best kind of cover.
Think of Wolv as a melee form of MK; he likes high ground, trades AoE burst for grabs and doesn't want to take much damage until his team gets a KO or he lands a good ult.
Walk in a circle by holding W and aiming. Then walk that same circle without aiming using WASD. Notice just how much faster the latter is for some reason haha.
Don't stand in front of people to hit them, unless you specifically want to bodyblock for someone. By hitting people from their side they can't jump over you and leave your melee range, plus they're not aiming at you so you won't get blown up as fast. Attack around people, not into people; this helps Leap go farther when grabbing someone from the side as opposed to from the front and having to do a 180-degree turn to pull them towards your team.
Sometimes there just isn't anyone for Wolv to grab on the enemy team (Thing/Emma solo tank). If this is the case, then instead of going for grabs do Undying -> Leap -> cancel with right-click to help your team focus someone down (works well with Phoenix), or just stay back to help fend off divers (this doesn't do much vs BP unfortunately). If there's no one to grab at all and your backline is getting nuked, swap heroes!
Wolverine works best with a Jeff or Rocket thanks to their AoE heals in fights, or triple heals since they can fend off a diver by themselves. He works worst with Luna. Play Adam for the teamup, ranged dps or something like Thor instead when you see a Luna on your team; they aren't going to help Wolv or peel for themselves at all haha.
A big point of finding high ground is you can also find the likes of MK there. When you do, you can force them to glide and stop nuking your team 24/7. If you land Leap on MK you might be able to run him down solo unless he gets to his healers quickly.
