Shells keep getting stuck

I’m new to shotguns.

i purchased a Maverick 88 field/security combo.

i can cycle through the Winchester target and load shells. The Monarch buckshot shells keep getting stuck in the chamber. I tried 4 and each one stuck. it gets stuck pretty bad where I have to cycle the action multiple times to get it to eject.

At first I thought I wasn’t bringing the foreend back all the way due to the kick, but I made sure to rack it all the way back hard and it still got stuck.

Do you think I got a bad batch? If so, can you return a partial box to academy sports?
