Am i getting too old for my hobbies and should I be ashamed of them?
Hello everyone, I’m in my early 20’s and I study in college while working a part time job. For years I’ve been collecting many different One Piece Funko Pops, and I have quite the collection. Now for some context, yes I have the money for them but when it comes between adulting and pops I will always choose my adult responsibilities before anything else. This past December, I finally had the time and money to purchase one I have always wanted, it was around 25 bucks so it didn’t break the bank. As most people do when they get excited about something, I went and told my friends and family i finally was able to get something for myself. Once I told them it was a Pop I was told “oh you’re still into those at your age?” I was kind of taken back by the statement.
My friends always share their hobbies and stuff that was important to them and i always supported it. Be it cars or legos I always pretended to act interested in what they like. Still, why was my hobby something to make a comment on? I don’t rub it in their face or bring up pops 24/7, so why is my hobby something to be ashamed of? I’ve just started to feel more ashamed of it and have the desire to keep it hidden from my friends. Is it wrong for me to have this kind of hobby?
