Is AI actually cutting false positives in financial crime in 2026??

Advice Request

I have a question for professionals working in financial crime, fraud ops, or compliance roles: has your team actually seen a meaningful reduction in false positives thanks to AI? I’m asking because I keep seeing reports from vendors and consultants saying GenAI is transforming AML, but in practice it still feels like most alerts need a manual review, especially in high-risk cases. that being said, some new tools claim to use autonomous agents that mimic what analysts actually do: review docs, match against SOPs, learn from historical decisions. In theory that should reduce noise and keep things auditable. Did your team have any success with this, did it actually make a difference ? Or did it just shift the workload from analysts to engineers and QA??
