Similar to Leon (the movie)

It occurred to me that the relationship between Cooper and Lucy is similar to the one between Leon and Mathilda. I say that bc someone in another post brought up an interview with Goggins saying that his relationship with Lucy is not familial, but there is something there (not romantic though).
