OBD2 scanner advice

I'm looking to get one just to have on hand in case something happens. I read that I want one that has updates for "lifetime" and good support. I need something consumer level that's easy to use and was told a BT one with a phone app is the way to go. I found these which are 60-70 bucks

GEARWRENCH says there's free lifetime updates. Not sure about the BlueDriver. Do you have experience with them or these brands? What would you recommend?
