Health Anxiety

Question

hey everyone! quick warning, this will be a longer post, I apologize in advance!

For background context, I don’t have a family doctor, and I don’t have an official diagnosis-i have been to walk-in doctors, seen multiple ER doctors, and am currently waiting on a cardiology appointment. I’ve had three X-Rays, two CT Scans, a bedside heart ultrasound in the ER, so many blood tests, urine tests, a 24 hour urine test, a 24 hour holter monitor and a 7-day holter monitor, and all have produced normal findings/normal results. the doctors I have seen have said it appears that my autonomic nervous system is sending incorrect signals to my heart which is causing the sinus tachycardia symptoms that had brought me to the ER, as well as the other symptoms that I have been experiencing. I have been prescribed Propranolol 10mg to take up to three times a day, and so far I have been taking it once in the morning and once at night.

so, here is where my discussion/rant comes into play. I had my seven day holter monitor in October, and because it was a walk-in doctor who ordered in back in June when this all first started happening, I have been really struggling with getting the results for this test, and finally today I was able to talk to the doctor about them. the doctor was incredibly nice, and informed me that everything appeared relatively normal, aside from there being nineteen extra heartbeats recorded over a three day period, but she said that the cardiologist didn’t find it to be abnormal because I was in a sinus rhythm the whole time, and that my initial consultation appointment should be coming up soon as I wasn’t considered an emergency case and as such, it can take up to six months to get a consultation, and we are now at the six month mark from when the referral was initially put in.

Now, although everything is technically “normal” I am feeling so much anxiety over this and am so scared I have heart failure, even though ALL of my tests and everything have not pointed in that direction at all, but I just can’t help feeling super on edge since hearing this, or I realize anytime I am in a limbo waiting for results I just get really anxious about my health, and always jump to worse case scenario.

have any of you ever received these types of results? not in a ”please diagnose me Reddit” way, but just in a “hey been there, it’s okay” kind of way lol

how do you cope with health anxiety? usually I’m better with moving through the motions and keeping my head in check, but I am currently on my period and getting over a cold so naturally all of my symptoms are going hay wire and I have so much anxiety
