Ben IS a misunderstood character

I played forever ago when I was like 12 and I HATED BEN but replaying after a few years my opinion really had changed a lot don't get me wrong i still dislike a lot of the stuff he did but assumably he's what 17-18 at MOST he is just some highschool student in the middle of the apocalypse surrounded by strangers! him trading off with bandits and inevitably getting katjaa and duck killed was super stupid of him but i mean he obviously was just trying to be helpful at least i belive so and he shows a lot of remorse for that not that it makes it any better,.. him leaving clementine was also a lame move but again he is just some high school kid scared surrounded by walkers, he could've helped yeah but can you really blame him? i usally let him die at the bell tower but my recent playthrough i actually saved him and i got the dialogue he gives after the boat gets stolen while in his care it gives him a lot of depth a high schooler wanting to see his family again not getting to say goodbye and not knowing if his family is even alive! when the game first got popular he got so much hate im glad to see in more recent years ben getting some appreciation, he is a more realistic character, just a scared stupid teenager a lot of this is a huge reason his later death in the alleyway is super sad:( i love ben paul,
