Grand Rapids votes to ban amplified noise near health care facilities

News

We are a health care capital, particularly in downtown. And so while a lot of attention has been paid to one particular facility and one particular group who engages there, I am not thinking about content and I am certainly thinking about what does this mean for our entire city, especially as we enter an age that I expect will be increase protests. I want to make sure we are protecting, defending and respecting that right,” Perdue said during the meeting before the vote.

Kelsey is right. So fyi to all the protesters, GRPD just got another tool in their tool belt. Not only do you need to be on the sidewalks. You better quiet. You could do a quiet sit in on the sidewalk outside their amphitheater when it opens. Then, they'll say "not there."

especially as we enter an age that I expect will be increase protests.

That's an understatement lol.
