Nexplanon for adenomyosis - my experience 2 months in
Posting this because i really havent found much about using nexplanon for adeno, even my obgyn(spec in endo) said he has not inserted many for endo, so he wasnt sure if this will be useful, but i dont want to try mirena again as ive had a bad exp so we went with this.
Bleeding pattern is messed up but so light its mostly spotting so it doesnt matter, im happy abt it.
Cramping has been mild, but present most days so far, like medium period cramps(normal kind not adeno/endo cramps).
Adeno pains have gone done significantly.. if i flare it goes away within minutes not hours, it doesnt disable half my day. My main issue has always been bm pain. I already have better control down there, gas pain is not uber painful anymore, its more.. uncomfortable and only sometimes.
Adeno cramps are more localized i feel, instead of my entire pelvis burning and hurting, i have burning for 1-3m and if it's pain its localized to certain spots and not as strong. it doesn't keep me from doing things around the house. i don't need to take a breather and lay down and wait for it to pass as before.
I used to also get such bad pain after eating full/normal sized meals, i'd have to prepare myself, as it always felt like a boulder was pushing against my pelvic organs after eating. thats gone..... i have some uncomfortable feeling left, but i dont feel like something's pushing on my organs anymore. it's amazing... i even over-ate one day last week and i was SO scared of the pain i was gonna get...but it just stayed at an uncomfty feeling, i was waiting for the pain to hit for hours :))))
And an interesting bit happened, first 3 days after insertion i had a whopping zero symptoms all 3 days. no idea why. i wonder if its anything to do with the local anesthetic, but that's local.. i really wonder how come. those 3 days felt amazing.
anyway, thats just my 2 cents 2 months in, in case anyone is considering nexplanon for adenomyosis symptom management.
