Lelit Kate (single boiler) — tips for espresso right after steaming?
Hey everyone,
I’m looking at the Lelit Kate PL82T (single boiler) and trying to understand how it handles espresso after steaming milk.
From what I gather, the boiler heats up to ~140 °C for steam, and then it needs to cool down to ~92–96 °C for espresso.
A few questions for those with experience:
- Do you purge hot water after steaming to speed up the cool-down? If so, roughly how long until you can pull a proper shot?
- If you’re making 2–3 cappuccinos in a row, do you pull all the shots first and then steam milk, or do you have another workflow?
- Any other tricks to reduce the wait between steaming and espresso without messing up the shot?
Thanks a lot — trying to get a realistic idea of how this machine behaves in real use!
