Summary:

Aziraphale is cumming coming home for Christmas. He isn’t looking for love when he returns to Michigan to visit his family for the first time in twenty-five years, but it wouldn’t hurt to find a little inspiration for his next novel. Everyone else, however, is dying to set him up. There’s the handsome man at the tree farm, and the attractive guy walking his dog. Then there are the rumors that a dark stranger has come to town to shut down the factory and put everyone out of work. If this were a Hallmark movie, Aziraphale knows exactly who he’d fall for.
But this is no Hallmark movie. Aziraphale prefers his love stories with a lot more sex.

Excerpt:

Aziraphale fidgets with his phone while he waits for the rental car, wondering if he should text Ana or wait until he’s settled. Before he can decide, a man dressed as Santa saunters up and tosses him a key fob attached to a ring with a sprig of plastic mistletoe hanging from it. After it bounces from his palm, it’s a miracle Aziraphale manages to catch it before it hits the ground.

“All yours!” Santa shouts. When Aziraphale opens the door to his white Jeep Cherokee, “Santa Baby” is blasting at full volume. He shudders and immediately turns the radio off. He’ll be hearing enough Christmas music on this trip, and he prefers a silent, contemplative drive.

It’s going to take every second of the journey to remind himself that this is supposed to be a relaxing vacation. It’s Aziraphale’s last hurrah before he buckles down to write his next novel. If inspiration doesn’t strike, he’ll find himself staring at a blank screen yet again. It’s been a year since Percy broke their engagement, leaving him bereft and unable to even consider writing another romance novel, but his publisher is no longer willing to accept that excuse. A. Z. Fell romances are in high demand, and he can’t let his audience down.

Two whole weeks away ought to help, only there’s a constant nagging doubt, a voice that says no change of scenery will restore him to what he once was: a hopeless romantic. All he feels now is jaded and bitter.
