First day of success! Small victories

Help

Some of you may have seen that I'd be concerned about my new baby as he hadn't eaten at all, not leaving his humid hide at all. I know this is due to stress being in a new environment, but with how young he is I'd been concerned that he was wasn't getting any of the benefits from his UVB from being hidden away all day and wasn't getting any calcium or multivitamins due to not eating.

I first tried tong feeding by taking the top off of his humid hide and letting the mealworms wriggle around in front of him, he had absolutely no interest or appetite (likely bc he just wants me to leave him tf alone) and then nightly I left a bowl of mealworms and a few dubias hoping I'd wake up to a nice empty bowl but I had 0 luck.

Well, it's been a week since I got him and with him being a baby and needing to eat as well as not having the calcium, multivits and UVB for that amount of time I took it into my own hands today.

I handled him (I know, bad me for not waiting until the two week mark but I was worried for him) and used my fingers on my other hand to let the calcium covered worm flail around in front of his face. As soon as he opened his mouth, I placed the worm on his mouth and HE ATE!! I did this five more times and he ate them all. I tried with a dubia after but I think he had had enough handling etc by then.

Do I do this again tomorrow with multivitamin as a dusting? Or now that he's eaten at least something, do I go back to letting him come around on his own?
