[TOMT]Seeking rare medieval fantasy horror movie hanged man revives for revenge

Hi, I’m trying to find a rare medieval fantasy/horror movie I watched on VHS/DVD back in the Here’s everything I remember:

• The movie takes place in a medieval environment, with stone castles and similar architecture.
• Early in the film, the main character’s wife is killed. I think she might have been tied behind a horse and dragged.
• After that, the main character (a man with long hair and a beard) is captured by people dressed like knights. They hang him on a tree while he is on a horse.
• The man wears black clothes and a black cloak, carries a sword, and has a red cross on the front of his clothing (not a necklace).
• After being hanged, he comes back to life. There’s also a scene where he is in a coffin.
• He appear without a head , and then he rides a horse to seek revenge against those who wronged him.
• The tone of the film is very dark, serious, and almost no humor.
• It could be a German, French, or other non-US production, but I’m not sure.
• The film seems very rare, and I haven’t been able to find it online — likely a small TV or direct-to-video production.

If anyone recognizes this film, even a clue about the title, country of origin, or approximate year would be amazing. Thank you so much!
