Was this a red flag or a test lol?

I had a first round interview with a manager yesterday

He spent the entire time not really asking me many questions (he asked maybe 3). He talked a lot about himself and how since he has started, he is done x y and z…. and it’s been so amazing for the company blah blah. he was randomly bragging a lot in the interview

anyways at the end of the interview he said “you’re a great candidate but I am going to give you some coaching so that it can help you on the next two rounds of interviews”. he said “you say “right” a lot when responding to my questions” and someone interviewing you might be off put by that. he then said I think it would be helpful if you pause before answering interviewing questions as your enthusiasm can be off putting for some people

Okay .. lol.

I am receptive to feedback and I just thanked him. He then said “i will move you to the next round but not sure if you will even get the job because we have fierce competition for the role”. I said okay that’s fine.

a bit weird?? or has this happened to you guys before lol
