Yesterday, Joe Keery shared this clip from a casual interview he recorded last fall with RespectiveCollective:

Asked about what he's listening to, Djo pulls out his phone and promotes what he says is an album recommended to him by a bandmate named Adam (who had apparently gotten the album from someone named Sergei): "Promises" by British electronic musician, Floating Points, legendary jazz sax player, Pharoah Sanders, and the London Symphony Orchestra.

Being on the lookout for r/conformitygate clues, I looked up the album, which turned out to be a trippy and cool experimental piece, with cover art that looks like three flat paintings reminiscent of printed maps, layered in a white void on top of one another, similar to the representations we've seen this season of Hawkins, the Upside down, and the Abyss.

But even more crucially, the Promises album is actually one composition divided into...(dramatic pause) *NINE* movements, and as explained on Wikipedia: "The central motif ultimately fades from the mix at the eight movement. After a series of false endings, the piece finally concludes with its ninth movement."

Episode 9 is coming, my fellow freaks. Let every Joyce Re-Joyce!

And heck, what would a dreamlike reality referencing all the annoying tropes of major pop culture franchise finales even be, anyway, without too many endings?

Bonus Mini-Theory: Missing from the various major horror movie tropes ST has woven into each seasons' storylines: The Secret Society. Eddie's campaign in S4 foreshadowed the Cult of Vecna. The 12 abducted kids might resemble this group, or perhaps Mr. Clarke, Murray Bauman, Eric Sinclair', Ted Wheeler, Jonathan Byers, Will, or Kali have an impending heel turn coming soon to a streaming service near you!

(Aplogies if this main story was posted already. Love y'all.)
