Got my 780g today

Hi all. Hope everyone is good.

I've been a diabetic since I was 4 back in '94, and, whilst I'm sure people have been diabetic longer than me, it has recently been pointed out to me by my kids that I'm probably older than most diabetics because I'm really old, and that was depressing because I always thought of myself as the diabetic youth... anyway...

I started off with good control, my parents controlled it after all and they were not gonna take any chances with their favourite child, but then I hit my teens and got control of it myself. Things started to slip, then get better, and slip again depending on my mood and hormones.

Then 6th form and university came (16-27 for those outside of Britain. This burnout lasted well after uni). Full control. No oversight. Complete collapse. No Basal for weeks at a time. Drink and other such things. no blood testing and just injecting when I felt I desperately needed it. I probably spent months in dka. Hospital a few times. Constantly feeling like death.

Then the libre was given to me. Hba1 dropped from 17 to 7 in 6 months. Burnout melted away. I can handle injecting as long as I dont have to stab my fingers every day 7 times. Life was good.

Fast forward 5 years. Burnout returns. I know what I need to do but just... cant bring up the mental energy to do it. Long lasting when I wake up. Cant be bothered to get up and do it, get distracted, forget until 2pm... do I give the whole amount now? Should I just wait till tomorrow? How am I supposed to inject 30 min before a meal? My whole lunch break is only 30 mins ffs. Meh that mael is probably 80 carbs (its actually 40 or 140) oh well, correct. And it all stems from the constant stabbing. Constant pain.

Cgms saved my life. Now this medtronic is gonna cement that, and I know it. I have no issue at all with 1 punch every few days, and in 10 years I have no doubt it will be less often and smarter. I've never slipped a beat with mt cgm, and know I will work as well with these new devices.

Just genuinely happy to finally be able to get one and know it will genuinely make me healthier by removing a barrier that made me hate dealing with my diabetes.

Anyway. Sorry for the unloading, any advice for a new user is always welcome, and I hope to be an active member of the community.
