Potentially boarding dog during snow storm?
This post was deleted in another sub for dogs so hoping this one sticks:
This might sound really stupid but I have a work trip planned next week and I just looked at the weather which says my area will be getting around 2 feet or more of snow. While not totally uncommon for my area I normally don’t do a lot of traveling in the winter. My husband just moved recently for work (spur of the moment thing and the pup and I will be moving soon as well!) so I don’t have anyone else to help out.
I’ve boarded my dog for other trips but normally in the summer with less weather issues. My question is, if we really do get 2 feet or more of snow and the area is essentially shut down, what happens to the dogs that are boarded?? Surely I can’t imagine the workers trying to trek through snow like that unless they have a vehicle that can, but most probably don’t. I’m really worried about leaving my dog and then her being stuck somewhere without care. The good thing is as long as my flight isn’t cancelled I’d be back the next day after the storm. And I’d do whatever it takes to get to her. Idk. Am I being crazy? Maybe I’ll just tell work I can’t go .. although they may not go for it since it’s not exactly an emergency yet. Advice? 😩
The boarding place is camp bow wow if that is any help.
