If I'm trying to hit a traffic cone with my car, should I turn my steering wheel towards it or away from it?
I thought if my goal was to hit the traffic cone, I should turn my steering wheel to orient my car wheels so that they're pointed directly towards the traffic cone when I accelerate.
But I'm hearing some important people say that if I wanted to hit the traffic cone I would turn my wheels away from it so that my car is trying to go to the right while the traffic cone is to my left.
Is this something like turning into a skid in winter weather? I'm kinda confused. They're very adamant that this is what's done when trying to hit a traffic cone though... turn your wheels AWAY from the traffic cone.
