I was skeptical about BL4 after the third sequel, but I am incredibly, INCREDIBLY impressed and have to share how happy we are with it
My wife and I have played for hours over the holiday season, and our game progress still hasn’t even hit 50 percent given how every bit of the world happily sidetracks us. BL4 brings back the joy of BL2. Every side mission, regardless of difficulty, actually feels worth finishing. We’re back to the thrill of hunting for guns, happily spending endless time managing our inventory, and exploring every corner of the map.
On top of that, there are so many quality-of-life improvements. We went in without knowing all the changes and immediately loved being able to call our vehicle at any time, mark weapons as junk before turning them in, automatically bank items marked for storage, and filter or sell lost loot. The customization options are great, and I’m really enjoying the different hover drives or whatever they’re called.
Most importantly, the multiplayer experience feels incredibly seamless. Being able to teleport to each other, set custom navigation pins, and split up efficiently has been a game changer. One of us can unlock a silo while the other explores a mine, or we can tackle multiple missions at once without friction. I also love the small but fun customization options for the Echo.
I know some people criticize the menu UI, but there’s a lot packed into it now and for the most part it works really well. I especially like the multiple categories available for marking weapons. My only real complaint is that L3 sometimes doesn’t flip the weapon card correctly, and we’ve noticed it can occasionally glitch so that my L3 flips my partner’s card while we’re both hovering over weapons in the menu. It happens so rarely that it’s hard to even deduct points for it. Another minor issue is the occasional level glitch where a mission item doesn’t appear, but teleporting away and back usually fixes it.
Honestly, I could go on and on, but I mainly wanted to share how much we’re enjoying BL4. It’s a much, much better experience compared to BL3.
