Should I just use an HDMI cable or use an Display port adapter?

Peripherals

So this is for my sister whom I handed down my old gaming laptop which has a RTX 3050 in it for her architecture course (she'll probably mostly use it for gaming tho lmao.)

The laptop has HDMI and Type C, while the monitor (1440p and 180hz) supports both HDMI and DisplayPort .

I’m confused between just using a straight HDMI cable or using a DisplayPort adapter instead. (I just mostly used this laptop back then for on the go gaming)

Should I just stick with HDMI, or is it worth using an adapter for DisplayPort?

EDIT: So I tried looking for UGREEN Display port to HDMI they only have adapters only

EDIT 2: So the monitor (MAG 325QF E18V) (That She bought with her own money, on my own recommendation which was only for the lolz) HDMI can only apparently handle 144hz....

EDIT 3: So UGREEN has only up to 120HZ(?) for HDMI's....
