More frequent accidents…First Aid/CPR course recommendations?

I manage a small salon with 4 other groomers and 2 bathers. During the last year, we’ve had more accidents than I feel is “normal”

(Ideally we would have none of course, but after ten years in the industry I know every once in a while is to be expected unfortunately)

I am new to management, and more than half the time I don’t feel qualified to lead these people. Most of the accidents are my newbies of course, bather and 2 groomers, each with 2-4 years experience. So they definitely aren’t baby groomers and oftentimes I feel they should know better, it’s just carelessness. I think the main problem is that no matter how many times the older groomers and I correct them and try to educate them on safe practices, they never really change the way they do things, even when they know I’m watching and going to say something. It’s like they don’t take me seriously maybe? Or they just think that cutting dogs is not a big deal or something, I’m not sure. But I can’t abide the thought of my clients leaving because they feel their pets are unsafe with us. We have worked hard to build a great reputation for caring about the pets in our community and I want to do my best to maintain that business model. Like we may not be the fanciest salon in town but we really do care.

I’m open to other thoughts and recommendations, but I am thinking the next step would be to have all my employees (and myself) take a CPR and First Aid course, also maybe even a course on proper handling techniques? The shop owner is open to this as well, we just don’t really know where to start.
