Worst shopping experience of my life. Any insight on next step greatly appreciated.

Delivery

If anyone has dealt with something similar would love to hear how it was resolved. Here we go!

Saturday, ordered a wardrobe online to be delivered. I live in NYC, don’t own a car. Order confirmed, card charged.

Sunday, get a shipping update. Will be delivered Wednesday 1/14.

Monday, I get an email saying the order is cancelled and issued a refund. I call. Rep says it shows that it was “over sold”. She’s confused, doesn’t understand how that can be done on the website. She opens a case and sends me an invoice link to set up a new order but with free shipping to make up for the hassle. Boom. Order confirmed, card charged.

Tuesday afternoon, get an email saying delivery is no longer available and that I can pick up via click n collect at the Brooklyn store. I call, speak to two people. Nobody seems to grasp the situation. I explain that I now need to hire a car which will cost me the same in shipping, not to mention time. Nobody cares. I hold on to the order to think on it.

Tuesday night, get an email saying that the click n collect has now been moved to the store in Elizabeth, NEW JERSEY! I call. I explain how ridiculous this entire situation is and how this would require me to rent a van and pay over $40 in tolls which would now come out to double what it would’ve cost to ship. Said they could put in a request to ship but will take 48hrs with no guarantee they can even ship. Offers me a $50 IKEA gift card.

I left it at that. Unresolved. Didn’t want to flat out cancel it before trying to figure something else out. It is now out of stock at the Brooklyn store and both NJ stores otherwise I’d just go get one then cancel this order I have.

Thinking about calling tmrw and demanding they figure out how to ship me one even if it’s gotta come from Texas at no cost to me. Any ideas?
