CMV: Abolishing ICE is a bad idea
I have been watching the ICE situation closely on Reddit for three days straight. I'm actually gonna take a break tomorrow because I just can't take anymore. What's happening in America is INSANE and I genuinely would compare it to WWII and the Nazi Party ethnic cleansing agenda.
Most of what I hear from protestors saying to ICE agents is that they are scum, they should all quit their jobs, and at the end of the day, they want to abolish ICE. They hold signs that say in big block letters "ABOLISH ICE."
I have the same feeling toward defunding the police but abolishing ICE seems like a radically terrible idea for your country. If you remove immigration and customs enforcement from a country, you are just asking for economic collapse and general disaster.
Normally I would say "a few bad apples spoil the barrel" but in this case I can just say that there are probably a few good apple ICE agents and not all of them are scum. They can't be. Americans haven't always hated ICE. An ICE agent's girlfriend came out to defend her boyfriend online and everyone recommended he quit his job and labeled him a terrorist. He served in the military and has been working for ICE for years, so you best believe he's kept your country safe.
I don't know what to say. The way things are being handled is totalitarian but at the end of the day it's the agencies (and more likely Present Trump's) recommendations and ICE agents are only the paid enforcers. They can't all quit their jobs.
Your country needs ICE.
