Would a hamster playpen from walmart be good for my hammy?

Ive been looking for things for my hamster Philly that are in my budget, and at walmart there was a playpen for under $20 that said on the box it was for small animals including hamsters. But my mom is worried about it climbing out somehow if i looked away at any moment xD any tips for cheap hamster stuff? :3
